Das Aufnahme- oder Sendedatum 12.Juni 1951 der RAI weist diese „Aida“ – Aufnahme als erste Gesamteinspielung auf Tonband aus. Sowohl die Decca-Aufnahme mit Tebaldi-Monaco als auch die Capitol-Aufnahme mit Stella Roman und Gino Sarri dürften etwas später aufgenommen worden sein. Wie bei allen Cetra-Aufnahmen ging es nicht so sehr um große Namen, sondern um rollendeckende Besetzung. So wirkt die ausgezeichnete Aida Caterina Mancini nur in zwei Gesamtaufnahmen der Firma Philips mit, während sie auf Cetra mit vier Gesamtaufnahmen vertreten ist. Auch Giulietta Simionato hatte hier nach einer verkürzten „Cenerentola“ ihre ersten großen Aufgaben als Rosina und Amneris. Mario Filippeschi konnte mit Radames und Arnoldo (Guglielmo Tell) beeindrucken und wurde dann für die Callas als Pollione in „Norma“ engagiert. Weitere Gesamtaufnahme waren „Don Carlos“ für EMI und „Mosé“ für Philips. Rolando Panerei war est sechsundzwanzig als er den Amonasro sang, vorher hatte er schon mit vierundzwanzig den Sheriff Rance in „Fanciulla del West“ bei der RAI gesungen. Giulio Neri, der als der rechtmäßige Nachfolger von Tancredi Pasero galt, hat durch seinen frühen Tod 1958 viel zu wenig Aufnahmen hinterlassen; in seinen wichtigsten Partien Mefistofeles und Großinquisitor ist er jedoch dokumentiert. Der Dirigent Vittorio Gui (1885-1975) galt zu seiner Zeit als hervorragender Operndirigent; Toscanini holte ihn 1923 für die Saison-Eröffnung der Mailänder Scala mit „Salome“. Er war jedoch auch als Konzertdirigent geschätzt; seine Vorliebe galt Haydn und Mozart. . Mario Filippeschi was impressive as Radames and Arnoldo (Guglielmo Tell) and was then hired to sing Pollione in Norma with Callas. Other complete recordings were Don Carlos for Emi and Mosé for Philips.
